Critical Friends

The Reflection of “Critical Friends”

Why ?

The Critical Friends Group’s process acknowledges the
complexity of teaching and provides structures for teacher to improve their
teaching by giving and receiving feedback (page 1, Bambino).  Moreover, Critical Friends Group’s is also
help all collaborators and the methods of works go along together effectively
and in the same way.

What ?

A Critical Friends Group is a coaches’ training program for
building collaboration and reflection among colleagues. (page 1, Bambino)

A Critical Friends Group is a professional learning
community consisting of approximately 8-12 educators who come together
voluntarily at least once a month for about 2 hours. Group members are
committed to improving their practice through collaborative learning. (http://www.nsrfharmony.org/faq.html)

How ?

Critical Friends Group helps people involved with schools to
work collaboratively in democratic, reflective communities (page 1, Bambino).  As we can see from the article that one of the
teachers had brought the lesson, which did not reach the goal, to the
group.  The members in the group will
give ideas and suggestions.  Then the
teacher will improve/adjust the lesson by making an agreement together with
students.

This can work very well in all communities.
